Girl Drink Drunk: Hand Drill (ver. 1)

My cocktail for this week was going to be a Sunstroke (vodka, orange juice and cointreau) but cointreau proved to be way too expensive to be entered into lightly, and I went for the cheapest orange flavoured liqueur at hand, Grand Marnier. Also instead of stirring the drink, I fired it in the cocktail shaker and garnished with nothing. So I figured those differences would probably make it into a new drink so I did a quick search to find out if it already had a name. The closest things I could find were a Greyhound (vodka and grapefruit juice) and a Battery Operated Screwdriver (vodka, grand marnier, triple sec, orange juice, grapefruit juice). So, after picking through the internet for a name that wasn't already taken, I'm calling this the Hand Drill. It's not the best drink I've ever made, to be honest, but I already have some ideas in mind for improvements... so I guess this can go on my list of cocktail prototypes.

On an additional note, I used Stolichnaya vodka which was my father's vodka of choice and, as far as I'm concerned, the best vodka you can get. It's premium.

Hand Drill Recipe

1 oz. Stolichnaya Vodka
4 oz. Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice
1/2 oz. Grand Marnier

Pour ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake and strain into an old fashioned glass.
